How can I control whether forum thread and reply authors can edit or delete their own posts?

The edit and delete permissions in forums apply to all content and are intended for moderation purposes. The ability of an author to edit or delete their own content is governed by configuration in Administration > Applications > Forums on the Editing tab:

Here, you can set:

  • Edit Post Body Age Limit (in minutes): This is the number of minutes after the thread or reply is created during which the author can edit it. To completely disable editing, this value can be set to 0. To always enable editing, this value can be set to -1.
  • Delete Post Age Limit (in minutes): This is the number of minutes after the thread or reply is created during which the author can delete it. To completely disable deleting, this value can be set to 0. To always enable deleting, this value can be set to -1.

Once you've adjusted these settings, click Save to commit them.
