Howdy kdeery - This appears to be the result of a modification to the UI on your instance of the platform. This site is using the Out Of The Box UI.
Tom PaolucciAre you saying that the Out of the Box UI for external sites nests the comments and replies together and that our developer overwrote that when they updated the UI for out site? Can you show me how it should look? Thanks!

We haven't seen that functionality on the external site, even before we made a lot of UI changes but I"ll have our team take a look. Would the version we are on make a difference? We are on v11.1.6.
Everything looks fine within our community site but it is the external site that is the issue.
While your version is not the very latest, this functionality should not behave much differently if at all. I'm not quite sure what the difference is between the sites you mention. Perhaps you can send me a private message and we can schedule a call to discuss further if you wish.
I think you need to clarify "external site", are you using some sort of integration with REST? If yes, then the UI is up to whomever is developing the integration. Are you using embedded forums? If yes, then it will not nest, this is legacy functionality, considered obsolete and slated for removal in the future.
I'll send you a video in DM Tom Paolucci . We used the steps in this Verint article and then just updated the text to fit our needs: How can I include forum behavior in an external website?
Patrick M. it is embedded... I didn't know this was obsolete. What are the other options?
If its embedded then the UI will never be nested and is not customizable. In fact embeddable forums are not actually meant to be treated like a forum as you can see in the UI. They were a way in older versions to provide external commenting. There are now several options to incorporate similar functionality from a pure REST perspective to a REST/widget solution using the scripted endpoint. I highly recommend using one of these methods
Scripting REST Endpoints
REST API
Thanks. I'll review this with our team to see how we want to proceed.
Using either REST option does the UI on the external website look like an actual forum? Do you have any clients that you know are using this?
