When setting defaults for all media galleries in your community, we recommend that you configure your site's global settings with properties similar to what you want each individual gallery to have so you don't have to override them each time you add a new gallery.
To set the media gallery default settings:
- Mouse over Management.
- Click Administration.
- Navigate to Applications > Media galleries > Options.
- Make the following selections or enter the required information:
- Number of posts to index per run - The number of posts to be indexed for search in each run.
- Navigate to Control Panel > Start Managing Media Galleries > [gallery name] >Manage > Files.
- Enable view type override - If the check box is enabled, individual galleries can override the view type selected by default for all galleries.
- Default view type - The default mode for presenting media files in galleries. If Enable view type override is checked, it can be overridden at the media gallery level.
- Allowed file extensions - The extensions allowed for media gallery storage.
- Click Save to apply the settings.
