Article What is a Knowledge Collection?

A knowledge collection is a collection of knowledge documents, or articles, that are authored in Verint Knowledge Management (KM Professional or KM Enterprise) and pulled into Verint Community for public consumption.   A knowledge collection allows you to create filtered views of Knowledge Management articles, referred to going forward as knowledge documents, so that you can target specific knowledge topics to specific areas of your community based on your community's topology. Knowledge collections are applications similar to blogs and wikis and as such are tied to a group.

How is a knowledge collection different than a wiki?

The biggest difference is that knowledge documents, the content of a knowledge collection are not authored inside Verint Community.   They instead are created in Verint Knowledge Management. With KM Enterprise, they are synchronized to Verint Community at regular intervals. With KM Pro, they are presented through the Verint Community interface upon request through Knowledge Collections and Search.  The management of, creation and editing of knowledge documents is all done in the parent Knowledge Management system.

How do I create a knowledge collection?

Before you can create knowledge collections, first you must configure your community to connect to Verint Knowledge Management and synchronize your content.   If you have already done this, then you can create a knowledge collection.
