Mailing List name would only appear when you the mailing option is enabled and configured.
Mailing List for a forum enables posting of the a new thread or a reply to a forum from an email. Users can simply respond to the email they recieved directly via email.
I understand how it works, but I'm not sure that this should be default in the forum email template versus the forum name. I will continue to customize every template
