As you’ve noted, shortening or configuring URLs differently for the Forum application isn't something that's available out of the box. However, it is most likely possible to achieve this through customizations. Let me know if you’d like to schedule a meeting to discuss further.

Of course you can always recommend that application names are kept short and users keep their forum thread titles under "x" amount of characters - but it is certainly difficult to handle on a larger scale
