Role subscription to forums

You can write an automation that would iterate through the list of the members in the role and remove the forum subscription from each user.

Thanks, Matt. I'll work with our team to set up this option. My original hope was that there was a simpler method we could use. Our original goal was that member = subscriber, but in this case old subscribers are being maintained, but are no longer members.

There is an automation  Automation to email role members when a term is mentioned that sends a email to all role members.  You should be able to borrow from that automation to see how to get the list of roles members, then instead of sending an email, you can run the call the unsubscribe from the forum for each of the users.
