What is the Search container image?

The search image provides Solr with the Community-specific cores and configuration.

Prerequisites

Purpose

Use the search container to:

• host the Community Solr search indexes

Dependencies

search does not require direct Community application services, but the rest of the stack depends on it being available.

Volumes and Ports

• Container port 8983 serves Solr. It should not need to be publicly forwarded.
• Solr data is persisted at /var/solr.

Startup Expectations

• On first startup, the container creates the Community cores if they do not already exist in the data path.
• Preserve the Solr data path across restarts if you want to retain indexes through a volume mount or bind mount.
