Copy and Pasting Images

Every now and then I post images in my content, across various applications. Sometimes I can copy and paste the image from Word, SnagIt, etc. Other times I have to save it to my desktop and use the Insert feature to upload the image into the post I'm trying to make.

Has anyone else seen this behavior or know why in some cases copy/ paste is acceptable and in others it's not?

Yes — this is something we’ve seen as well, and it mainly comes down to formatting differences.

The Verint Community rich text editor (powered by TinyMCE) handles pasted content differently depending on the source. Applications like Word, SnagIt, browsers, etc., all use their own formatting and clipboard structures. Sometimes that formatting translates cleanly when you paste (including images), and other times it doesn’t, which is why you see inconsistent behavior.

This doesn’t just apply to images — it can also affect text, links, and other embedded content.

Because of these differences between third-party tools and the TinyMCE editor, the most reliable best practice is to upload images directly into the community using the Insert/Image upload option rather than relying on copy/paste. This helps ensure consistent rendering and avoids issues caused by incompatible formatting.
