Critical issue: Updates - site banner

Since last week, on multiple environments we receive the following notification in the site header and in the Monitoring area:

In priciple, the feature is great to have. It's helpful to receive updates about new versions and upgrade potentials.
But the banner keeps coming up on the site and can't be hidden or disabled.

Does anyone else experience the same and how can this be disabled?

Not only for one session but for a longer period maybe until the next version is released?

  • Just wanted to show Verint how ugly this alert is at our user conference. I could be showing the site on the big screen, but I have been here 1 hour and I have had to x it out 3 times already. So instead of our clients seeing the community when they walk by they see a screen that means nothing. We pay you a lot of money and we shouldn't have to have deal this across our pages!!

  •  Not a long-term solution, but can you create a test/demo user to use for this conference and log in as that user instead of your regular (admin) account?

  •    I was going to suggest the same thing as what  suggested.  The issue is it marked as a "Critical Alert" and those should not dismiss easily. Sounds like we need to make this less than "Critical" condition to allow easy dismissal.

Let me see what we've done for that in 13.0.1 (or 13.0.2 coming out this week).

  • Thanks Alex. I do that in my class but this is a big HUB with booths like mine and I need to jump from group to group. We have over 65 products so I use my account so I can show whatever group they are in when they come by my booth.

  •    Check out this quick video. You can go to the System Notifications widget and set how log of a postpone all they way up to 27.77 hours (100,000 seconds).  It is defaulted to 600 seconds and banner mode (orange bar across top). The other option is an alert type that might not be as disruptive to it surfacing.
