run script api under script tag

The above mentioned following script api is not getting executed. This api im trying to run in content file in one of the widget under script tag.

What is the extension of you content file . To execute the above code it should be javascript

There is no as such extension mentioned there. But it is written that it is a velocity file.

Asper your suggestion, even if it is not a js file still this code should run inside script tag write because this is the js syntax provided by verint in their documentation.
