Updating core_Language Options

I am unable to update the profile field programatically:

Did you update the languages.xml file?

Not sure, we are hosted on Verint servers and just requested the language pack be installed. Is this part of the installation process?

yes, they should be aware, but may worth checking with them.  Its in the root of the languages folder, you can ask for them to send it or review

Also on a side note, you are attempting to actually update a field definition, and language is not updateable(this is not how languages get added to that field anyway, its using the languages.xml mentioned previously)

Yes. The Japanese language pack is on both staging and production. Also, both have <language name="Japanese" key="ja-JP" isRightToLeft="false" in the languages xml file.
