Set Maximum File Size, Was not Stopped Uploading Larger File

II updated our Maximum File Size in our community and then tried uploading a file larger then it. It let me select and uploaded the file. I was expecting the file selector to not allow me to choose a larger file. Am I misinterpreting how this should work or is there something else that's needed to be done?

  • Hi Stephen, to what application type are you uploading a file? Even though you set the max file size to 99 at the Filtering there. Some of the applications like Galleries and Forum have seperate Quatas and file size restriction settings. Recommend also taking a look at Applications > Media galleries > Quatas and Applications > Forums > Attachments and so on for all application types.

Also, if you're an admin of the site, you exempt from this limit as you have permissions to do so:

Note that members with Override Validation permission at the site level are exempt from this limit. A value of 0 means there is no limit.

  • Thank you, i verified all applications were set the same and then tried as a non-admin. It was the admin role that was not throwing an error. I impersonated another user and it displayed proper error.
