New emoticon images show ID instead of image

I was testing adding new Emoticons (Admin > Site > Emoticons > Custom) which seems like a very straightforward process.

I added a company logo as a new image:

When I test this on a Blog post, it shows fine when editing:

However, when I save, it just shows the ID:

Has anyone experienced this or is it working properly for you? I assume it's a bug (I'm on 12.1.4.25057), but curious if anyone else has experienced this.

  • Hi

I just tried this quickly with a svg file and it worked fine in a local 12.1.2.21912 environment, added as above to custom and then created a test blog post

I also tried disabling the collection but the icon still displayed (not sure if this is good or not)

Hopefully someone in the product team will see this and advise

  • Thanks for testing, ! I just tried a few different SVG's too but no changes (I don't remember if I used SVGs or PNGs yesterday). Good to know it SHOULD be working though. I'll file a case to see if there's anything else happening

  • Hi Alex, just realised I had a 12.1.4.24841 setup as well locally Slight smile

added a custom icon to a question and I am also seeing the embedded tags, also seems to break existing icons in the same post when you add a custom one

    e.g.

If I remove the custom one the stock one reappears, so yes looks like it may be specific to 12.1.4
