Giving moderators access to Auditing

As you would expect, moderators in the moderator role have access to the moderation console where they are able to approve or deny content and users in the requires review or possibly abuse dashboards. But this role does not permit them to view either Auditing or Events within the Monitoring tab. The only way I can give them access to these is to make them Admins or give them and addition permission to  Manage Site.

The reason they need access is because when a user appears in  Requires Review in the moderation console they have no way of dealing with it other than to keep contacting myself as the admin. Only in Auditing is it possible to view user IP addresses (which is key to their role for a number of reasons including safeguarding), and they need to access events to see the Stop Forum Spam confidence score, which is the only place they can view this. Both these are necessary for them to make a decision when a user is in 'Requires Review'

We have tried setting up a new role but can't seem to customise it to include just the areas they need access to. Manage Site permission gives them access to almost everything and although it solves the problem of accessing Auditing and Events, it isn't appropriate to give moderators such a high level of access. It seems to be all or nothing.

Any thoughts?
