Unable to allow users in a role the ability to accept answers in forum threads (Forum - Mark Reply as Answer)

Question

We wanted to allow certain users in the community the ability to accept answers, I added the 'Forum - Mark Reply as Answer' permission to a role linked to the users as below 
 The users in the expert role were still unable to see the 'verify answer' option, is there anything else that needs to be configured? 
 Forum - Mark Reply as Answer 
 Enables users to identify a reply as an answer to any user's question. User's can always mark replies as answers on their own questions. 
 Membership Types 
 
 Owners 
 
 Allowed Site Roles 
 
 Expert

For users other than the author with the permission, the verify and suggest options appear in the More menu by default.
