Is there a way to update a status messages Status Message REST Endpoints from rest

It appears there is not a way to update a status message using REST. I've logged this as: 
 
 As a work-around, you could create an HTTP Triggered Automation to expose the Scripting API for updating status messages: https://community.telligent.com/community/12/w/api-documentation/68498/core_5f00_v2_5f00_statusmessage-script-api#Update
