We're trying to get some clarity around the "Searches with No Results" report.
We were initially excited to see this option, as it would help us better target missing content that users might be looking for. However in practice I'm finding it less useful, since almost all of entries are not failed, but simply partial search strings where the user clearly clicked through to one of the dynamic search results that appeared as they were typing their query in the Forum Ask Widget or Site Search.
These are all ordinary search queries that we would expect our users to enter (eg: "I'm looking for naturalization records..."). In my thinking, these should not be included on this report since they clearly did have a result, versus a query where nothing was returned. In this case the signal-to-noise ratio is such that it's impossible to find any actual "searches with no results."
Curious how others are using or interpreting this report, or if I'm missing something.
Thanks!
