Group Custom Theme Questions

There are a lot of options to do this.

- One way is to create another group theme for that group in particular
- Another way is, in the widget itself, based on the group ID(s), hide or show specific widgets.

A short example of the second option:

#set ($currentGroupPath = $core_v2_group.CurrentGroupPath)
#set($gpid=$currentGroupPath.get_Item(0).Id)
#set($subsetgpid ="22")
#if($gpid != $subsetgpid)
$core_v2_widget.Hide()
#end

If i create a new Group Theme, can it link to a new Site theme so the header/footer are different?

I have a secondary question, is there a way to link existing group theme templates to existing Site templates? It appears some of our templates do not have corresponding site themes, how do we link them?

I've got myself in such a mess with our sub group themes and stuff. If anyone is doing or wants to do a deep dive webinar on setting up group themes please, please, PLEASE let me know!  

Hi Stephen, yes you can create seperate site themes and use them in sub sections of the site, we had to do this for verint connect

How do you accomplish this?

I need to create multiple Group templates under 1 site theme but I get this message: 

In this situation, you can also configure the group theme to not inherit headers/footers from the site theme and it will be kept completely separate. If you're not planning on using a custom site theme, I would recommend against creating one just to define custom headers/footers.

No, site theme can only relate to one group theme.

Note that the inheritance of header/footer widgets can apply to to group themes that are not the same ID as the site theme.
