Making a specific content within Verint public for users outside of Verint (with no credentials)

Data is only securable at the application level as the lowest point, not individual pieces of content.  The content you want public has to belong to a  public application.  

Hi Patrick M. I have a similar question, but not about individual items of content--it's about making most of our community (the main group and most other groups) public, such that a person can access those groups without any login, while making other groups private. We currently use Okta as an SSO, and the login requirement has been a big barrier to participation. Our company is looking to make our (self-built) documentation site public, while making certain areas private behind the Okta SSO login. We are investigating doing this with our Community as well, but I have never looked into this before. I thought some sort of login would be necessary so that the Community would know who you are (your profile) if you engage with content, but maybe there's a way around this. This is probably a dumb question, so thank you for your patience and help!

Howdy Sherri Vance, Login would be required for members to participate in the community, but some content could be made available to view without login being required. Most of the content on this community is available without login, but to add a like to content, create a post, or a reply does require members to login. Login would also make private content available to members with the appropriate permissions. Hope this helps... 

This helps a lot, Tom, thank you! I didn't see information on the specifics of how you would make this happen in the documentation--is there a link you can point me to? This is what I think we would do--make the content visible without login, but require a login to interact.

Permissions for the Everyone Role can be used to allow access without login. Here's documentation related to that:  How can I limit access to my community to only registered users? 

Most sites requiring login have the Extension 'Telligent Services: Restricted Access for Telligent Community' enabled. When enabled. this redirects anyone who isn't logged in to a predefined URL. This would need to be disabled to allow access to those not logged in. 

By default the platform requires login to actively participate in the community.
