Invite feature with SSO?

Is it possible to use the built-in Invite widget with an SSO? I see that SSO is mentioned in the Doc's, however I am not getting the user to land on the registration page so I am unsure if I need to make any adjustments to my configuration.

You have clarify what SSO you are using and how it is configured

We are using an external SE oAuth for Azure.

How was this implemented since this would be a custom provider? IExternalAuthenticationPlugin provides a property for this method.
