Error rendering the preview of a PDF file

I've been uploading a lot of PDFs, and they're all rendering with a preview with no problems, except for one. This is what it looks like after it attempts to render.

There are no exceptions in Admin/File Viewers/Document Viewer/Exceptions, and there isn't anything particularly unusual about this PDF file.

It does attempt to render a preview (it shows the screen/message that you typically see when the preview is rendering) but then it bails out.

Is there somewhere else I should be looking for an error message? Has this happened to anyone else and do you know why, and how I can fix it?

Thanks for your help!

    Hi Sherri,

Also check Administration > Monitoring > Exceptions and Administration > Monitoring > Events for any related messages.

You can also try editing the post removing and re-uploading the file to see if the same issue occurs again.

If it does - how does this file compared to others you are uploading? Is it larger? Contains more pictures, or tables, etc?

  • The file doesn't differ from others. It's one we've maintained for a long time by simply replacing the file with a new version, though--is that a difference? We replace the file rather than removing and reuploading. We will try that.

In Administration-->Monitoring-->Exceptions I see a lot of unknown errors from yesterday:

In Administration-->Monitoring-->Jobs, this error literally happens every single minute. I'm not sure what it means; I will look it up.

Here is the detail of that error. It looks like something isn't working with our SAML integration. I think I should put in a support ticket, but I'm not sure if Verint helps with SAML errors.

Go ahead and file a ticket for the SAML errors, so that the team can investigate.
