Get widget settings from another page

I've developed a 'hero' widget that contains a large image to be displayed at the top of a page. The image is chosen using a 'url' data type in the widgets configuration. 
 If I place this widget on a group home page and set the image, can I then access that image configuration value from within another page in the same group (for example, a forum page)

A widget's configuration is only accessible from within itself. I'd suggest taking a look at theme configuration, which is accessible from the theme's own script as well as from any widgets running within the theme. In this case, the url configuration property could be added to the group's theme configuration, and then read both by the hero widget as well as other widgets on different pages within the same group. The only change would be to use the core_v2_theme Script API instead of the core_v2_widget Script API .
