System - Notifications : Configuration

Description

Purpose

Displays system notifications as banners or alerts, overriding default system notification alert rendering

Where it works

This widget is designed for use in the page header at the site level. .

Configuration

Place and configure the widget

1. Go to the Community Home Page
2. Click Pencil Icon >  Manage Site Theme > Edit this Page
3. Scroll to the top of the page and click Edit Header
4. Select the System - Notifications widget which should already be on the page.
5. Click on  in the widget menu bar. The configuration dialog appears.
6. Postpone Delay - Number of seconds after which dismissed, non-resolved, notifications will redisplay. Default = 600
7. Display Mode - System notifications can render as alert popups or window banners. By default, system notifications use the more intrusive banner mode. Select one. 
   • Alert
   • Banners 
8. Desktop Notifications - When checked, notifications will be displayed on the desktop if possible.
9. Click Save to exit the configuration dialog.
10. Click Publish when complete.
