Article Search Terms : Configuration

Description

Purpose

This widget allows you to track the search results for a specific term. 

Limitations

The following search syntax operations are supported:

[term], example: dog pony

[term] OR [term], example: dog OR pony

[term] AND [term], example: dog AND pony

+[term], example: +dog +pony

-[term], example: +dog -pony

"[phrase]", example: "dog and pony"

[field]:[type], examples: type:blog pony, or title:"dog and pony"

[wildcard], example: dog*

This widget works on just about any page on the site.

Configuration

Place and configure the widget

  1. Click Pencil Icon >  Manage [Site/Group] Theme > Edit this Page
  2. Select and place the Forums - Links widget on the page
  3. Click on   in the widget menu bar. The configuration dialog appears.
  4. You can change the title of this widget by replacing the text in the Widget Title box.
  5. Search term - Enter the term(s) and syntax for which you want to create a search. See Supported search syntax for the types of operators you can use.
  6. Content types to include - Select one or more of the following:
    • All
    • Article
    • Article Collection
    • Blog
    • Blog Post
    • Calendar
    • Calendar Event
    • Comment
    • Forum
    • Forum Reply
    • Forum Thread
    • Gallery
    • Group
    • Idea
    • Ideation
    • Listing
    • Marketplace
    • Media
    • Page
    • Status Message
    • User
    • Wiki
    • Wiki Page
  7. Group - Select a specific group to load results from. If left blank, results from all groups will be shown.
    • Enter : Forum Name, ID, or URL
  8. Include results from sub-groups - Check for yes.
  9. Sort - Select one of the following:
    1. Date (descending) - Results are listed with the most recent result first.
    2. Date (ascending)  - Results are listed with the oldest result first.
    3. Title (descending) - Results are listed in reverse alphanumeric order.
    4. Title (ascending) - Results are listed in alphanumeric order.
  10. Number of results to display - The number of items to display in the list. Defaults = 5
    • Load results asynchronously - If selected, this option enables the widget to use Ajax.
  11. Enable paging results - Check for yes.
  12. Click Save to exit the configuration dialog.
  13. Click Publish when complete.
