Article Media Gallery - File List : Configuration

Description

Purpose

Displays a filterable list of media gallery files.

Limitation

This widget requires search to be installed in order to work.

Where it works

This widget works just about any page on the site. It can pull content from any gallery it has access to instead of working only contextually.

Configuration

Place and configure the widget

  1. Click Pencil Icon >  Manage [Site/Group] Theme > Edit this Page
  2. Select and place the Media Gallery - File List widget on the page
  3. Click on   in the widget menu bar. The configuration dialog appears.
  4. You can change the title of this widget by replacing the text in the Widget Title box.
  5. Sort by - Select from the following:
    • Date/Time posted - Files will be listed according to posting date/time.
    • Name (alphabetical) - Files will be listed in alphabetical order.
    • Number of downloads - Files will be listed in descending order of download popularity.
    • Number of views - Files will be listed in descending order of view popularity.
    • Number of comments - Files will be listed in descending order by number of comments.
    • Rating  Files will be listed in descending order based upon rating.
  6. View - Select from the following:
      • According to configured defaults - Files will be displayed according to their configured defaults.
      • Detailed List -  Each file's thumbnail image, description, type, date, rating, and number of downloads will be displayed. This is the default view.
      • Thumbnails - This view removes type, date, number of downloads, and rating.
  7. Select group/media gallery to pull content from - Click a radio button and add the appropriate name(s), ID(s), or URL(s):
    • Select galleries - This is the default. If you don't specify the group, it uses the current group. 
    • Select groups - Using this option, you can pull from all media galleries owned by a group.
      • If you select this item, you can select whether to pull from the group's subgroups by checking the Include media galleries in selected group's sub-groups check box.
  8. Number of files to display per page - Defaults to 20 but number can be raised or lowered.
  9. Click Save to exit the configuration dialog.
  10. Click Publish when complete.
