Article Group - List : Configuration

Displays a full list of groups.

Configuration

Place and configure the widget

  1. Click Pencil Icon >  Manage [Site/Group] Theme > Edit this Page
  2. Select and place the Group - List widget on the page
  3. Click on   in the widget menu bar. The configuration dialog appears.
  4. You can change the title of this widget by replacing the text in the Widget Title box.
  5. Show - Specifies the items that display in the group list. This option displays as Accessing User's Groups from the Dashboard context. The Show drop-down list contains the following options:
    • Current contextual group's subgroups - Displays the subgroups of the current group.
    • Current contextual user's groups - Displays the groups that the user account being viewed has joined.
    • Accessing user's groups - Displays the groups to which the logged-in user belongs.
  6. View Type - Specifies the information displayed about the groups in the list.
    • List - Displays information about the groups in the list, such as group avatar, group description, author, author avatar, and application.
    • Thumbnails - Displays the avatar image for the group avatar, and displays less information for the group than List view does.
  7. Sort By - Choose one of the following options:
    • Alphabetical - Lists groups alphabetically. Numerals come before letters in alphabetical order.
    • Last updated Date - Lists groups based upon when the group content was last updated.
    • Custom Order - Window opens to define desired groups and order
  8. Sort Order - Choose from the following options:
    • Ascending - Starts with A or newest date first.
    • Descending - Starts with Z (or letter closest to it) or oldest date first.
  9. Number of items to display - Specifies the number of items to display in the list. Defaults to 10.
  10. Show - Specifies the items that display in the group list. This option displays as Accessing User's Groups from the Dashboard context. The Show drop-down list contains the following options:
  11. Enable Paging - Check if you want more results to be presented on additional pages.
  12. Click Save to exit the configuration dialog.
  13. Click Publish when complete.
