Article Forums - Links : Configuration

Description

Purpose

Displays a list of common forum links.

Limitations

The widget options are shown according to context. Even if all options are enabled, they will only be displayed as appropriate for the page type and according to member permissions.

Where it works

This widget works on forum home pages and forum post pages. When collapsed you access the options by clicking More

Configuration

Place and configure the widget

  1. Click Pencil Icon >  Manage [Site/Group] Theme > Edit this Page
  2. Select and place the Forums - Links widget on the page
  3. Click on   in the widget menu bar. The configuration dialog appears.
  4. You can change the title of this widget by replacing the text in the Widget Title box.
  5. Collapsed - When not being accessed, the widget collapses and you access its options by clicking More.
  6. Enable and arrange the desired options to be available from the widget: 
    • Administer forum - Accesses the forum administration section of the Administration Panel. You must have the Forum - Edit Forum Settings permission.
    • Bookmark forum - Displays as "Bookmark this forum." Adds the forum to the bookmark list.
    • Bookmark thread - Displays as "Bookmark this thread." Adds the thread to your bookmarks list.
    • Capture to article - Launches the capture forum to article functionality.
    • Capture to wiki - Launches the capture forum to wiki functionality.
    • Create forum - Accesses the Create New Forum section of the Administration Panel. You must have the Forum - Create New Threads permission.
    • Feature - Launches the Featured Content functionality.
    • Manage subscriptions - Shows a list of forums (the Forum - Email Subscriptions widget) with their groups and whether or not you're subscribed to them. You can change this last option by clicking it.
    • Mark All Read - Marks all unread threads in the forum as read.
    • Moderate - Accesses the forum moderation section of the Administration Panel. You must have Forum - Moderate permission.
    • Move thread - Accesses the forum administration section of the Administration Panel. You must have the Forum - Edit Forum Settings permission.
    • New thread - Opens the Create/Edit post form. You must have the Forum - Create New Threads permission.
    • Notifications - Subscribes one to receive notifications for the forum.
    • RSS - Provides an RSS feed for the forum..
    • Share - Opens the Start Conversation modal window. You can send a friend a link to the thread.
    • Tags Displays Tags added to content within this forum.
  7. Click Save to exit the configuration dialog.
  8. Click Publish when complete.
