Description
Purpose
Displays links used to manage, view, and subscribe to blogs and blog posts.
Limitations
The widget options are shown according to context. Even if all options are enabled, they will only be displayed as appropriate for the page type and according to member permissions.
Where this widget works
This widget works on blog home pages and blog post pages. When collapsed you access the options by clicking More.
Configuration
Place and configure the widget
- Click Pencil Icon > Manage Blog Theme > Edit this Page
- Select and place the Blog - Links widget on the page
- Click on
in the widget menu bar. The configuration dialog appears - You can change the title of this widget by replacing the text in the Widget Title box
- Collapsed - Selecting this check box collapses the blog options into a "More" button
- Select, arrange, and enable the links to be displayed
- About - Opens to the blog About page, if one has been created
- Administer blog - Opens the Administration Panel to Manage Blog - the user must have blog administrator permissions for this to be displayed
- All comments RSS - User can be notified when comments are published to the post
- Atom - User can subscribe to the blog via Atom
- Bookmark blog - Adds the blog to the user's bookmark list
- Bookmark post - Adds this post to the user's profile Bookmarks tab
- Contact author - Opens the contact form so users can contact the blog author. This option brings up the same window as the Blog - Email Author widget
- Control Panel - Opens the Administration Panel - the user must have administrator permissions for this to be displayed
- Edit - Opens the editing functionality - the user must have editing permissions for this to be displayed
- Edit theme - Opens the Administration Panel to Manage Blog Theme / Edit this Page - the user must have appropriate permissions for this to be displayed
- Feature post - Opens the Administration Panel to Featured Content option
- Home - Opens the blog home page.
- Manage blog - Opens the Administration Panel to Manage Blog - the user must have appropriate permissions for this to be displayed
- Manage pages - Takes you to the Content Pages tab in the Administration
- Move post - Opens the Administration Panel to Manage Blog / Blog Options - the user must have appropriate permissions for this to be displayed
- New blog - Creates a new blog
- New post - Opens the new blog post functionality - the user must be the blog owner or have administrative permissions
- New post by email - User can create blog posts via email.
- Post comments RSS - User can be notified when when new comments are made to a blog post
- Posts RSS - User can be notified when when new posts are published to the blog
- Report Abuse - Moves post into Moderation Workflow
- Share - Opens Private Message window with link attached
- Subscribe via RSS (all blogs in group) -
- Subscriptions for blog - Displays Turn Blog notifications on/off
- Subscriptions for post - Displays Turn Comment notifications on/off
- Click Save to close the configuration dialog
- Click Publish when complete
