Blog - Browse Blogs : Configuration

Description

Purpose

Displays a sortable list of blogs on the website. You can sort blogs by:

• Blog name
• Number of posts
• Last updated post
• Custom defined order

You can navigate to the blog by clicking the blog title.

Limitation

This widget requires search to be installed in order to work.

Where this widget works

This widget works on the group home page.

Configuration

Place and configure the widget

1. Click Pencil Icon >  Manage [Site/Group] Theme > Edit this Page
2. Select and place the Blog - Browse Blogs widget on the page
3. Click on  in the widget menu bar. The configuration dialog appears
4. You can change the title of this widget by replacing the text in the Widget Title box
5. Click the Show Blog Name checkbox to display the Blog title
6. Click the Show Blog Group Name checkbox to display the Blog's Group Name
7. Click the Show Post Count checkbox to display the number of posts in this blog
8. Click the Show Latest Post Date to display the most recent post
9. Filter to Group - Select a group to filter posts from. By default, it filters to the current group
10. If Show data from Groups and all Subgroups is checked, displays blogs from the current group and its subgroups.
11. Number of results to display allows you to select the number of blog results to display (default - 20)
12. In the Sort order drop-down list, select the order to display the the blogs
    • By name - Sorts the blogs in alphabetical order
    • By post count - Sorts the blogs by the greatest number of posts, from most to least.
    • By last updated date - Sorts the blogs by most recent posts, with the most recent to the oldest
    • Custom Order - Opens a box to list and organize the blogs you wish to display
13. Include current group's name in Title - The name of the parent group is included in the title
14. Click Save to exit the configuration dialog
15. Click Publish when complete
