Should all users be able to see the pencil in the top left corner of the page. I know that permissions will limit the administrative actions, but can this be removed for general users who are not members, managers or owner to not appear?

  • Hi, Ben. We do have two generic roles: RegisteredUsers and Everyone, which include most users, that have some functionality in their role permission. These have been set previously  and we don't often edit these. We noticed for non member, managers, and owners that a blank moderate section will show up if they click on administration. However, from permissions, the "blog - moderate" is not checked for these users. Is there another function that would allow this to show up for all users?

  • For users to see moderation, they must be able to review abuse at the site level or in at least one group or application. If, for example, registered users (the role) was added to a group as an owner or manager or blogs are created automatically for users (so they would be an owner), this could explain the access.
