You could always change the permissioning of the group to be private unlisted - that way it is not listed anywhere. Only those who have access or site admins would see it (If you do not want other users to see it - you could always remove roles/ users from the group)
The group is already private unlisted. The last option we have is to remove the role associated with the group. Was exploring if we have any other option for this.
