Issues with Open in Window?

I've tried testing this on my local instance as well as on this site and it is working for me as expected.  If you can reproduce this regularly, perhaps provide some steps for us to reproduce the issue along with the full version of Community you are running.

We are currently running version 11.0.0.7924.

The steps we take are:

• Highlight Image/ Word that the hyperlink will be inserted
• Click Insert - Link
• Input the URL of the location of the link
• Change the Target drop down to "Open in New Window"
• Click Ok
• Reply/ Save/ Post item.

It doesn't matter what browser it is, it will continue to open in a new tab.

Thank you Rachel. This is expected.  It's not the same a right clicking and choosing either a new tab or a new window.  The browser itself interprets this a decides to open it as a new tab.  

Specify window height and width attributes to the open call:

window.open(url, windowName, "height=200,width=200");

When you specify a width/height, it will open it in a new window instead of a tab.

Can you tell me where to put this information? It doesn't look like I can input this into the "insert link" field.

A member of our IT team was able to provide a work around that ensures opening in a new window and not tab. If you hold down the Shift key while clicking on the link, it will force it to open in a new window.
