Is there a way to place a post to moderation for the use of identified legacy terminology?

Is it possible to set up post moderation for the use of certain words?

Would like to moderate posts that use legacy terminology to replace with acceptable alternatives.

Thank you,

Geneva

  •   Depending on what you're trying to do, check out either:

    • Administration > Moderation > Censorship ( where you can auto-replace words and bypass the need to moderate)
    • Administration > Moderation > Abuse Automation > Forbidden Word Counts (you can make posts be automatically moderated if any of the banned words are used)
  • Thanks!  Will this work with discussion, document and video?  And does the Author get notified that the post is being moderated for forbidden word?

    Thank you again,

    Geneva

Censorship will work with all content on the site and will not notify the user, simply will replace the source word with the target word.

Forbidden Word Counts has a few restrictions, but in most cases will be available on all content and will notify the user that their content has been flagged for moderation. Since the use case is not exact, some of the wording may be a bit alarming to users (eg, "Your content has been flagged as abusive"). Also note that certain users may be exempt from Abuse Automation flagging based on permission (Review Abuse) or on user reputation percentile or certain Roles. These settings can be adjusted at Administration > Moderation > Moderation Options, under Exemptions.

Based on your other thread ( More than one option for word censorship? ) I'd recommend either deciding on a single alternative term and using Censorship to seamlessly replace without author input, or to use Forbidden Word Counts as an opportunity to interface with authors and make sure they know of the changes.
