When a user is 'marked as abusive' by the moderation system, how do you 'unmark' the user as abusive?

I've tried to search for this but perhaps I'm using the wrong terms.

Using the 'abuse automations' in verint, it's decided that a user is an 'abusive user' because they've met the thresholds (not because their content has been disapproved) repeatedly.

Although these thresholds have since been adjusted, I've looked on the user's settings under 'membership' and I've looked through 'abuse automation' but I don't see any options to have them no longer marked as an 'abusive user'.

Their content is repeatedly being caught up into the moderation queue because they're marked as an 'abusive user'. Although there's auto moderation adjustments to make for abusive users, simply where can I change the user to no longer be marked as an 'abusive user' ?

    Check Administration > Moderation > Moderation Queue. There are three tabs there, Moderation Queue, Possibly Abusive, and In Process. Check the tabs there for the user account in question. If the account is "Approved" via the Moderation workflow, they will no longer be marked as abusive.

  • This is showing me that the author is identified as abusive 'by abusive user's content is abusive', their account status is 'approved', and I can 'approve' their content.

    I no longer want the author to be identified as 'abusive' but I do not see an option to do that.

    If the account is "Approved" via the Moderation workflow

    Where is that exactly?

    Check the "In Process" tab and filter by "Any User" and check each status. Also check the "Possibly Abusive" tab. The user themselves should appear as a moderated item, where you can Approve them to mark as "not abusive".

  • Thanks for your patience and clarifying

    The user appeared under
    - In process
    - Any User -> Expired

    To me, the wording/verbage around it doesn't seem to imply why the user has 'expired' (why would content expire in a moderation queue?) and whether or not it's the user being judged rather than the content they're listed in the moderation queue for.

    I don't understand why the user would be listed there in this way, the documentation that I found didn't make this clear.

    Users are subject to the Moderation process in the same way that content is - if a certain user is flagged as abusive overall, vs individual pieces of content being abusive.

    "Expired" in this context means that there was a window of time in which the user was notified that their account was flagged as abusive and could appeal the automated action, but that the time period passed with no appeal. Thus, the "appeal window" expired and the automated decision was assumed to be the correct one.

    The In Process tab includes anything that has been identified as possibly abusive but does not require moderator action at the moment - including those things that have passed the appeal window and expired with no action from the creator. The Possibly Abusive tab includes content that has not yet been identified as possibly abusive by the system, but that one or more users has flagged as abusive.
