Moderation/Abuse Management for custom application content types

Check  moderate UI Component  for UI implementation.

Have you checked the In Process tab in the Moderation Queue? Usually a single abuse report will not immediately hide content and push it to the moderation queue, unless done by a user with Site or Group level Review Abuse permission.

Glad you got it working. Content is generally not immediately hidden when flagged by a single user - instead, calculations are done behind the scenes weighing certain metrics against each other, such as the reliability of the abuse reporters' reports and the typical quality of the content creator's content. If this calculation reaches certain thresholds, then the content will be hidden.

There is an exception for users with Revew Abuse permission for either the site or group the content is in. Since these moderators are trusted to review abusive content already, their vote is treated as reliable and the content is hidden immediately in order to go through the Moderation process.
