Group Theme

We have Group set up with some sort of layout, and some widgets are placed on this group home page.

When subgroups are created the subgroups should also have the same layout and same widgets to be placed on the subgroup's home pages too.

We just achieved this by exporting the importing them to the target group.

our requirement is we will be creating more than 100 subgroups  Exporting & Importing would be an effort,  Is there an API to do this? so that things would go on an automated way .

    If you are expecting to create all groups with the same thing, you can set your top level group theme as the the default group theme. If you will have other groups with other themes, but you expect to create all these groups at once, you can set the default group theme while you create these groups, and then set it back (export original default before changing, and then import original again after creating subgroups).

     we thought of creating subgroups, applications via Apis under a parent group.

    At the same time, we like to apply the parent group theme along with layout changes applied on Applications of parent to all subgroups. Is it possible to give the theme XML as input while creating the groups.
