Move the forum applications to a different group

Question

Hi, 
 
 Our current community instance was structured into two high-level groups - Blogs and Forums. 
 Forums Group : 
 Applications: a) Technology 1 b) Technology 2 c) Technology 3 
 With this design, we cannot create leaderboards specific to a technology. And also, we are facing issues with moderation. 
 We are looking into restructuring the forums and moving the above applications to separate groups. 
 What is the best approach to achieve this? 
 Any help will be greatly appreciated.

 Unknown said: Most applications can be moved directly from their options panel. For instance, from a Forum, Open the Pencil, Manage Forum, Forum Options. Change the Group field to the new group and save. The other applications should work in a similar fashion.

 Both the Blogs and Forums applications can be moved to new groups that you set up as you are restructuring your site. Let us know if you need any assistance with working out the best structure based on the content. There are a few things to keep in mind as you restructure.

You can use forum update Api by giving the target group id to its GroupId Filed, Please note that the post under this application will also be moved to the target group.

 $core_v2_forum.Update($forumid, "%{ GroupId = $targetgroupid }") 
 
 Based on the source and destination groups you need to add the Members of the source group to the destination group
