Turn off "subscribe by email" option for non-registered users

We have our blogs visible to everyone, not just registered users. However, we'd like to make sure that a user has to register/login to the community in order to subscribe to a blog.

Right now, registered users see these options on a blog page:

But non-registered users still see this option:

We'd like non-registered users to see NO options. Is there a way to set this up? I've looked in permissions and Group Options, but nothing seems to work. Ideas?

Hi Jocelyn,

There is no permission specific to this action, but if desired you can edit the Blog - Links and Blog - Post List widgets to remove/disable the functionality to subscribe via email.

Hi , thanks! I'm not sure I follow though:

1. What do I have to turn off on the Blog Post List widget?

2. And wouldn't removing "subscriptions for blog" from the Blog Links widget also prevent registered users from subscribing? We just want to target non-registered users so that there's a clear incentive to create an account.

You'd need to edit the widgets in Administration > Interface > Widget Studio. The Subscribe by email code is separate from the member suscribe, such that you can comment out or remove those portions that handle subscribing by email for non-registered viewers.
