Getting invalid Next Sibling Count from Threaded Forum Replies REST endpoint

Can you share your full response as well as your parameters?  We flatten the children at default depth of 2, so children can be at the same level as their parents when beyond this depth.

What is the full version of Community you are running?  You can get this by going to Manage > Administration > About
