Is there a way to get the last modified date for a media element via In-Process or Script API's?

Question

Media content does not contain the last updated/modified field, only the creation date. 
 For some types of content, I see that there is such a field ( LastUpdatedDate) , for example for an idea or a status message 
 Idea In-Process API Supplementary Type 
 StatusMessage In-Process API Supplementary Type 
 Perhaps there is another way to find out the date of the last modification of the media content item?

Media is one of the content types that does not have an Updated Date field. The idea to add it is posted here if you'd like to add support: 
 Edit: link I posted seems no longer valid, but it is logged for review for a future release.
