We've had a lot of success extending the Verint RTE to include our own features in the Insert menu.. it's been really quite straightforward to write custom code, even in v11 (and the changes in v12 to add a Studio for it look like they're going to be really good when we migrate to 12).
One thing we'd like to do is show different items in the Insert menu depending on where the RTE is being shown, i.e. the items in the Insert menu really should be different for Add Status Message vs a Forum Reply vs a new Wiki doc.
Has anyone encountered needing to do this before? I can't see any way I'd be able to filter this list properly due to the CanEmbed method (in IEmbeddableContentFragmentType) not being called consistently across the site (it doesn't fire when it renders the Status Message box onto the homepage). but maybe I'm missing something?
