Forum Thread Details - Subscriber behavior

Mhhh I got a question today about the Forum Thread Details which I could not answer.
I have two subscribers to a Forum Thread. Where/how does that counter get populated?
Does that mean that when a 3rd person replies, 2 subscribers get a notification?

I looked in the documentation and configuration of the widget but it was not conclusive

It's a count of users subscribed to the thread via the forum itself, or by subscribing manually to the thread, or by replying to the thread which can auto subscribe the replier.

When either of the two subscribers replies, the other subscriber will get a notification, if a new user creates a reply, they will be subscribed and a notification sent to the other two subscribers.

OK thx Brian. I tested a scenario with a customer and she unsubscribed to the forum instance but the counter did not go down...so that got me wondering....I'll make some more tests and probably will advise them to upgrade to the latest v11 build just so to be sure that it is not a bug...

We have API's that can provide lists of subscribers, however, there is not a UI currently. However, this UI is coming in our next release 12.0.

Sorry for the miss communication, In 12.0, it will only be available for our new Article Collections application.
