Generate access token for REST using Email and password.

Question

Hi , 
 We are using the User Cliedentials Grant type to generate the access token for REST Calls? 
 But we configure our community login with email and password. 
 So in order to generate the access token for the rest call, we need to use emailid instead of Username, Is there anyway to do this ?

Not when using that grant type no. Logging in with email is really not logging in with email, its a really a UI trick, it simply looks up a user by email then using the username to authenticate. You would have to do something similar if thats truly what you want.
