Metrics from Sub-Groups

As we wrap up this year, I'm getting a lot of requests for group metrics that include all the various sub-groups. For example, we have Hardware Engineering and about 20 groups that call HW Engineering their parent. I really don't want to have to pull metrics for each group, so I'm wondering if I'm missing something obvious. Is there a way to pull metrics for a parent and all its children?

Here is a screen shot of where it is within the Reporting > Active Content report. It should show within the groups filter.

What metrics are you looking for? Reporting allow filtering by group and has the options to include subgroups.

Hmm. I could have sworn I saw "include subgroups" at some point, but I've looked all over now and don't see it. Did I change something somehow? Where would I see it normally?
