We have a very large wiki for acronyms. After having some issues with users accessing the table of contents to move content (in a way they weren't instructed to do) and therefore breaking the alphabetical sort, we had to remove the "Move Pages" permission for our registered users. Simple enough.
It turns out that by removing the "Move Pages" permission, the user is still presented with the prompt to set the parent during the initial page creation, but the information isn't accepted once they hit post and shows as NULL in the database. Therefore, someone with advanced permissions has to go back in and reset the parent for all new pages.
