Yes, this is exposed as configuration on the Thread widget. On a thread's page, go to (Pencil Icon) > Manage Group Theme > Edit this Page and inspect the configuration for the thread widget. It contains an option for thread depth.
Michael Monteleone I'm looking to modify this value across the entire site, but updating the default from 3 to 5. It looks like this can be edited through the Widget Studio > Comment List > common-config.vm:
1. Comments and Forum Threads are two different widgets. If you want to update comments, you've got the correct widget. To update forum threads, it's the Forum - Thread widget.
2. To update the default, update both the retrieval of the value (which it looks like you found) and also the configuration-defined default in the Configuration definition in the widget. The default provided when retrieving the value is a safeguard in case the Configuration definition is removed, but, it is ignored if the Configuration definition exists.
