Of all the permissions, I badly need "Create Groups" to go away across the entirety of the community and only be accessible by admins. Group owners just don't understand that groups are not applications, so creating dozens and dozens of groups doesn't add any additional functionality. I have tried every avenue of education and it's just not sticking.
How do we make this happen?
1) I'm the only owner at the site root level, so we're well organized there. That was intentionally because I didn't want the landing page getting cluttered up.
2) We have more than 250 sub-groups. That's a lot of groups, so a script would likely be helpful. Speaking of helpful would also be adding a field to reporting that shows the owners of a group. I would be able to figure out which groups need to be unchecked ASAP much faster.
But if something is coming in v12, I suppose it would be best to wait and see. For now I'll just keep unchecking "Create Groups" when I run into owners who just won't listen.
