How to prevent notifications when updating old content (blog posts)

Just editing a blog post should not fire off a notification, if however the published state changed, such as the edit was made, saved as draft, then published, this would fire off a notification.  Also, if the Publication Date was changed.

Ya, we didn't put the post in draft mode or change the publication date but we'll be sure to keep that in mind when we edit posts. 

Is it possible the system thinks the publication date changed because in the past we hosted our site on Azure and the server was set to EST and we're now hosted by Telligent and the timezone is in UTC?

We're on 11.1.10427 and I see the following hotfix for 11.1.2. Could this be related?

TE-15124 - Fixed issue where a duplicate blog post notification email may be sent on edit/re-publish if blog post notification and Blog Post Author Notification are enabled

p.s. The Blog Post Author Notification was not enabled when the notification was sent. 

No, that only is affected by unpublish then publish as well.  Also, timezone change would not affect it.

Hey all, we are on 10.3.4 but are having the same issue. The site is sending out notifications for a post that has been updated. We have a bunch of links to fix in a specific blog, and we don't want users unsubscribing because of this notification issue....

This fix was also included in 10.3.5
