Amazon RDS - Supported DB Types

Question

Hello, 
 We are exploring the possibility of moving some of our sites to AWS using RDS. I have been asked to confirm that only SQL Server is supported for RDS (seems to be the case from reviewing the documentation ) and that MySQL or other DBMSs are not supported. 
 If only SQL Server is supported, would we be able to migrate storage to AWS by following instructions similar to the instructions for migrating to Azure ?

RDS is fine and yes only SQL Server is supported. There is not a current path from local file store to S3 like the Azure one you mentioned. Its of course different than S3 but if the goal is to move to AWS you still have the option of EBS .

We have a couple of customers using both RDS and S3 with the S3 using our free provider https://github.com/4-Roads/FourRoads.TelligentCommunity/tree/Telligent11.1/src/code/FourRoads.TelligentCommunity.AmazonS3 which wraps the Amazon SDK.

Unlike the Azure provider which is optimized for both secure and non secure containers the S3 provider uses just one container so in theory it should be possible to use CloudBerry to simply copy the files. If you wanted to optimize it further for performance you could split it into 2 containers using the configuration.
